Youth Workers against Disinformation.
In the era of digital information overload, fake news is everywhere, traveling faster than ever before and our defenses seem powerless against it. And yet!
At a second glance, Disinformation is not invincible as long as you spot it and know how to deconstruct it, you can reach the Truth. In other words… Double Check!
From 17th June to 27th June 2026, 25 Youth Workers from five European countries are joining forces for this year’s Double Check – Training for Youth Workers, organized by mindspark+ in Alexandroupolis. Their mission is to understand complex media theory, develop “antibodies” against fake news and enhance critical thinking among young people aged 13-30.
During this exciting ten-day project, participants from Greece, Romania, Portugal, Spain and Latvia, will co-create the “Double Check Toolbox”. This toolbox will provide them with the necessary tools to safely and inclusively detect fake news, stereotypes, disinformation, AI-generated fake images and more.
In this enjoyable non-formal education journey, participants will be guided by experts as Ilias Nikezis, Kostas Ordoubozanis, Therapon Fakas, and others, who will share their experience and knowledge.
Double Check – Training for Youth Workers is an Erasmus+ Mobility for Youth Workers Project, serving as the sequel to the highly successful Double Check–Youth Exchange organized by mindspark+ in 2025.
Double Check -Training for Youth Workers is open to individuals over 18 years old (no upper age limit) who work or regularly interact with youth, speak English, are interested in digital information and are eager to learn, network and take action.
