DOUBLE CHECK Youth Exchange concluded with a strong message: Spot it. Stop it.

The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange DOUBLE CHECK was successfully completed, bringing together young people and youth workers for an intensive learning experience on disinformation, media literacy, fact-checking, digital citizenship and responsible communication.

Over the course of the programme, participants explored how false or misleading information is created, why people believe it, how the attention economy shapes online behaviour, and how verification tools can help citizens identify manipulation. Through non-formal education activities, group work, study visits and practical workshops, the young participants moved from understanding the problem to creating their own awareness tools and educational outputs.

A central part of the project was the hands-on creation of educational disinformation simulations. Working in four teams, participants produced short videos designed to imitate misleading content in a controlled and clearly educational context. These videos are not real news items. They were created exclusively as training material to help young people recognise manipulation techniques, misleading narratives and false information.

Through activities on fact-checking, reverse image and video verification, stereotypes, logical fallacies, gamification and ethical youth work, DOUBLE CHECK encouraged participants to become more critical, responsible and active digital citizens.
